From the beginning
Our Founders
Zero Hour was born in the summer of 2017 when Jamie Margolin, Nadia Nazar, Madelaine Tew, and Zanagee Artis came together. Frustrated by the inaction of elected officials and the neglect of youth voices in the climate change conversation, Jamie started gathering friends to organize something big and impossible to ignore. Nadia, Madelaine, and Zanagee joined her.
Recognizing the need for a national day of youth-led mass action, they set out to ensure young voices took center stage. By summer’s end, a diverse group of young activists from across the nation had rallied around the cause, and Zero Hour was on its way.
